A VR training simulation for Egepen Deceuninck: experiencing the line before stepping onto it

As a solution partner to Egepen Deceuninck, we developed a training simulation in which employees experience the production line in virtual reality before they set foot on the shop floor.

In the VR simulation developed for Egepen Deceuninck, a training video presented by the EGE mascot plays in the virtual training room.

The need

A new employee on a production line usually learns the flow of the line, the machines and the points that need attention on their first day, while the line is running. That is the hardest moment for both learning and safety: amid noise, movement and the pace of production, everything is new at once.

Our solution partnership

As a solution partner to Egepen Deceuninck, we developed a training simulation in which employees experience the production line in virtual reality before they set foot on the shop floor. When an employee puts on the VR headset, they find themselves inside the line; when they stand in front of it for the first time, the setting is already familiar.

Training that starts with EGE

The simulation begins in a virtual training room. Before going out to the line, the employee watches a short training video presented by EGE, the company’s mascot, and then moves on to the training area.

A moment from the simulation: the training video presented by the EGE mascot plays in the virtual training room.

Why a simulation

In the simulation, the employee doesn’t just watch the line; they move through it. Training doesn’t require stopping the line, disrupting production or taking an experienced worker away from their job to accompany them; the employee can repeat the same environment as often as they need.

The aim is for employees to spend their first day focusing on the work rather than on figuring out their surroundings. This reflects the core principle of Imverge’s training design: attention develops through experience, not through reading.
